Shared folders

PeerAware supports sharing any and all file types, ranging from small text documents to video files of multiple gigabytes. There are no limitations to what you can share, but it makes sense to make sure that company policies allow you to share your files with the workspaces you are connected to. Always remember that any person in a workspace can search, browse and download the documents and files you are sharing.

Index Content

PeerAware indexes the documents you share by text-content of shared documents, along with file name and description. For this purpose PeerAware uses IFilter technology.

IFilter technology

IFilter plugins are used for extracting content from shared documents. To expand the indexing capabilities you can install additional IFilters. If you have not done so already and will be sharing pdf files, it is recommended that you at least install the pdf ifilter. This is done by installing Adobe Acrobat Reader. Please use version 7.05 or higher.
