How a PeerAware search works
When you press the search button, PeerAware sends your search request to all connected workspaces. Each workspace forwards your request to the connected users, where shared documents are processed looking for documents containing your search words. The top results from each user are displayed in the search result listing. PeerAware is able to search all your microsoft office documents, pdf files and media files.
Searching local shared folders
By choosing "shared folders" in the "Look in" dropdown it is possible to search among the files you have shared from PeerAware instead of other people's shared folders.
You found something, now what?
When you have the search result, there are three options:
- Select the files you want, right click and choose download. The files will be downloaded to your default download folder.
- You can download all files in the folder where the search result was found, including sub-folders. Simply select a file and choose "Download Folder". Use this carefully, or you could download a lot of files.
- To browse the location where the file was found, select a file and choose "Browse". You can then find additional files that might be related to your search result.
